How does the Honeywell 5811 compare to the 5814?




The 5811 has a longer signal range but is less sensitive. The 5814 has a shorter range but is more sensitive.


Size Difference
The 5814 is Honeywell's smallest door/window transmitter, at 1 1/2" x 1 3/16" x 5/8".  At 2 1/8" x 1 3/16" x 5/16", the 5814 is half the thickness and two-times the length of the 5811.

Range
The 5814 has a range of 100 feet; the 5811 has a range of 200 feet.

Magnet Gaps
Before an alarm is triggered, the 5811 must have a 3/4" magnet gap.  The 5814 has a gap of 1/2".
