How should I store my sealed lead-acid battery?

6 Volt and 12 Volt Sealed Lead-acid batteries should be stored in accordance with these guidelines to sustain optimum battery performance.

1. Always store batteries fully charged. Check stored batteries monthly and recharge if necessary.
2. If you're storing an electric vehicle, like a wheelchair or a scooter, make sure to charge the batteries to full capacity and then disconnect them from the machine.
3. Make sure the storage location is at a controlled temperature at or around 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Storing at very hot or very cold ambient temperatures will hurt battery life and performance.
