The Keyscan NETCOM2P is a plug-on TCP/IP communication adapter designed to connect compatible Keyscan access control panels to an existing LAN/WAN network. Featuring a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet interface, static IP configuration, and TCP/IP communication, it enables network connectivity between Keyscan controllers and centralized access management software. The module connects directly to a compatible access control unit (ACU) or Communication Interlink Module (CIM) for multi-controller installations. Measuring 1.625 1.9375 inches, it draws 140 mA from its host equipment and supports Keyscan Aurora software.

Keyscan NETCOM2P Plug-On TCP/IP Ethernet Communication Adapter for Access Control Panels

The Keyscan NETCOM2P TCP/IP Communication Adapter provides Ethernet network connectivity for compatible Keyscan electronic access control systems. Manufactured by dormakaba under the Keyscan brand, this compact plug-on serial-to-Ethernet communication module connects directly to a supported Keyscan access control unit (ACU) or Communication Interlink Module (CIM). It enables communication between networked access control panels and centralized management software over an existing Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN). The NETCOM2P supports single-controller applications and multi-controller installations using compatible Keyscan CAN Bus communication architecture. Typical applications include commercial offices, educational facilities, healthcare buildings, warehouses, industrial properties, and multi-building access control systems requiring centralized door management.

The NETCOM2P features a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet interface and communicates using standard TCP/IP networking. The manufacturer's installation documentation specifies TCP port 3001 for communication between the adapter and compatible Keyscan access management equipment. The module uses a static IP address, subnet mask, and gateway configuration established through the Keyscan NETCOM Program Tool utility. Its documented default programming IP address is 192.168.100.254, allowing initial setup through a compatible computer when the applicable hardware and programming method support network configuration. The RJ45 interface incorporates diagnostic LEDs for Ethernet link speed, activity, and duplex status. Once configured, the adapter allows compatible access control equipment to exchange system information with the host computer or server through the facility's network infrastructure.

The Keyscan NETCOM2P supports two primary installation configurations. For single-controller applications, the adapter plugs directly onto a compatible Keyscan access control board, providing a network connection without requiring a separate external communication converter. For multi-controller systems, the NETCOM2P installs on a Keyscan CIM (Communication Interlink Module), allowing network communication with multiple access control units interconnected through supported CAN Bus wiring. The module draws approximately 140 mA from its host equipment, with manufacturer-documented combined requirements of 270 mA when powered through an ACU or 290 mA when powered through a CIM. Power is supplied through the compatible controller or communication module rather than through the Ethernet connection. The NETCOM2P is not an IEEE 802.3af PoE-powered device and requires the appropriate Keyscan system power arrangement.

The NETCOM2P measures approximately 1.625 1.9375 inches (41 49 mm) and features a compact printed circuit board designed for installation inside compatible Keyscan control equipment enclosures. Its operating temperature range is 41 F to 158 F (5 C to 70 C), supporting suitable indoor commercial and industrial environments. The module is compatible with Keyscan Aurora access control software and designated legacy Keyscan systems, subject to controller firmware and software requirements. For installations requiring enhanced encrypted network communication, dormakaba offers the separately specified NETCOM6P, which supports AES Rijndael encryption with configurable key lengths of 128, 192, or 256 bits. Unlike the off-board NETCOM2, the NETCOM2P uses a direct plug-on connection to supported control boards or CIM modules. The adapter does not contain reader inputs, lock-control relays, or a standalone credential database; it serves exclusively as a network communication interface. Installation should follow the manufacturer's hardware compatibility, network addressing, power budgeting, and programming instructions.
