Conventional smoke detectors from Kidde are available in the 500 and 700 series. They are photoelectric smoke detectors that operate on 24Vdc and are compatible with UL fire alarm panels.

Depending on the model number, some features include: - Built-in drift adjustment. The detector adapts to its surroundings to minimize false alerts.
- CleanMe's self-diagnostic tools. If the detector is not calibrated correctly or is unclean, a fault indication will appear.
- A smoke chamber that is field replaceable for simple cleaning.
The magnet test. Use a magent to trigger the detector and even test the sensitivity (no meters needed).
