EAX-500 Detex

The Detex EAX-500 is a self-contained exit door alarm engineered to deter unauthorized use of emergency exits, fire doors, stockroom doors, and restricted-access openings. When the door breaks the magnetic contact, the unit triggers a piercing 100 dB piezo horn - loud enough to halt casual misuse and signal staff from across the floor.

An intelligent circuit auto-detects the external magnet location and sets door handing on install, removing field-configuration steps. The tapered, tamper-resistant housing surface-mounts to door or wall and fits narrow stile applications. A single 9 V DC battery powers the unit for years of standby operation, with a built-in Low Battery Alert and visual/audible arming indicators. The alarm can only be silenced with the proper control key - preventing nuisance shutoffs by passersby. A weatherized variant is available for outdoor installations.
