American Fibertek MT88 Eight Channel Supervised External Contact Closure System, Multimode, Module Transmitter

The American Fibertek MT88 is a module transmitter component of the 88 series 8 channel supervised external contact closure system which multiplexes 8 channels of "supervised input" dry contact closure on one multimode fiber. A set of 8 LEDs on the transmitter unit indicates the channel status.

The contact input supervision will detect an open connection and a shorted connection as an alarm. The alarm condition is removed only when the contact input voltage falls within a predetermined range.

Failsafe operation is provided such that, if the optical power is lost or the transmitter or receiver DC power is lost, the normally open contact outputs will go to the alarm states (open).

Diagnostic indicators provide a quick visual indication of system status. Equipment may be ordered as stand alone modules or rack cards that are mounted in the SR-20D/2 or SR-20R/1 AFI Card Cages.
