The American Fibertek 46-PoE-HP Series transmits and receives (2) copper 10/100 Base-T Ethernet signals at the RJ45 ports and (1) optical 100 BaseFX over 1 or 2 multimode fibers. The system is comprised of two units forming a point-to-point communications link.

The 46-PoE-HP Series also sources up to 60 Watts of power to an Ethernet powered device (PD) from one RJ45 port. The power is carried over all 4 pairs of the Ethernet cable. However, it is required that the PD have independent discovery and classification interfaces for both the data pair and the spare pair of the Ethernet cable.

Both RJ45 ports may be used to deliver Ethernet data to devices. An external power supply is required.

The system is designed to be completely transparent with auto negotiation features which automatically configures the unit for the correct speed (10/100 Base-T).

Auto MDI/MDIX operation eliminates the potential need for crossover cables. Diagnostic indicators provide a quick visual indication of system status.
