The MS Deadlock is operated by the 4550L-01-121 MS Deadlock Lever with about three pounds of downward force on a three "lever, whilst the spring-loaded lever raises to relock the mechanism. The indicator, which shows the status of the lock, is self-driven by the lock bolt. It can be put inside a door in place of the existing key cylinder or cylinder-style thumbturn. Its gripping motion guards against interior parts getting hurt. 7/8-inch rims with the 4550 Deadlock Lever are incompatible "rearset locks
Any MS Deadlock is easily unlocked by applying a downward force of around 3 lbs. on a 3 In. lever. Lever is spring-loaded to the horizontal position and relocks when raised. a lock's status indicator. Can be fitted inside a door in place of an existing key cylinder or cylinder-style thumbturn. 4550 No progress 7/8 In. backset locks are not compatible with the lever. To unlock, move the lever 90 degrees downward. Lever returns to its original position when released. To relock, rotate the lever up 90 degrees. Outside key operations are unaffected. Internal component damage is avoided by clutching action. Compatible with any MS pivoted bolt deadlock, including "Schoolhouse" versions, the 4550 can be installed on MS1850S, MS1950, MS1837, and other MS pivoted bolt deadlocks. The 4550 lever can also be used to operate derivative units like 1870, 1870HM, or 1877 flushbolts (bolt into threshold). Not compatible with the 7/8 In. backset locks, the MS+1890 or 2190 deadlock/latch, or both. Individually packaged with mounting screws, drive pins, and installation instructions for locks with single point and threshold bolts.
