Designed for simple integration with access control systems, the Steel Hawk 4300 Electrified Deadlatch has a non-handed, narrow backset.
Electrified locking hardware and access control are smoothly combined by the 4300 Electrified Deadlatch, which operates under small stile aluminum entrance door preparation standards. The handle or paddle device is always operative from the inside. Access is granted using a keyed mortise cylinder or an access control device like a keypad or card reader. Fail-safe lock with a form "C" latch status monitor, if desired. The basic fail-safe 4300 Electrified Deadlatch may run continuously and uses 12, 16, or 24 VDC electricity. The units come with a plug-in quick connect connector. For Adams Rite 4500 and 4900 Deadlatches or MS Deadlocks, interchangeable without stile modification. Door thickness must be at least 1-3/4" (44.5 mm).
To release the spring-loaded latchbolt, turn the key, turn on the electricity, or move the handle or paddle. Suitable electrically for continuous duty for timed applications. has a simple interaction with other components of an access control system. accessible only in fail-secure configuration. The 4036 Mortise Cylinder with MS cam and the 4066 Thumbturn are two standard 1" [25.4 mm] length, 1-5/32" [29.4 mm] diameter mortise cylinders that can be used with the lock. The cylinder can come from one side or both.
Cylinder Backset: 31/32", 1-1/8", and 1-1/2" (28.6, 38.1 mm), among other features.
Plating on steel to prevent corrosion. Specifies dimensions of 15/16" x 5-13/16" x depth (23.8 mm x 147.6 mm x depth). Depth varies with backset.
Stainless steel for the latchbolt. 5/8" x 1" x 5/8" [15.9 mm x 25.4 mm x 15.9 mm] throw measurement.
All-metal accessory bolt. prevents "loiding" or case-knife entrance by deadlocking the latchbolt.
Faceplate: [25.4 mm x 174.6 mm] 1" x 6-7/8" in size. The faceplates come in flat and radius shapes. For right- or left-beveled edge doors, flat faceplates can also be changed on the spot.
Choose from the available strikes for a strike. Easy retrofits with surface-mounted strike 4304. If covering an existing MS deadlock preparation or for new applications, specify the 4901-01 mortised-flush version. The 4901-02 strike can have expanded lips for applications involving thick or center-hung doors as well as radius profiles for pairs of doors.
Standard Packaging: Strike plate, flat and radius faceplates, mounting screws, each in an individual box. For use with certain handles or paddle operators, comes with 4581 Universal Cam Plug. Available individually are the cylinder, paddle, and handle.
