How do I program a Honeywell wireless motion detector?

A motion detector must be assigned a zone on your Honeywell Control Panel. Vista Panels, like the Vista 20P or 21iP, use zones 09-48 for motion detector programming. LYNX Panels, like the L3000 Plus or the L5100 Lynx Touch allow wireless motion detectors to be programmed to any wireless non-panic zone.

Once you have found the zones you want to use for your wireless detectors, you must choose a zone type. "Interior Follower" (04) will trigger an instant alarm when motion is detected. If a door/window sensor is triggered first, the alarm will sound. After the alarm subsides, the motion detector's alarm will follow. The Interior Follower is a good setting for motion detectors installed near keypads. The "Interior w/Delay" (10) will activate an alarm after the entry delay ends. These detector zones remain disabled while the system is armed in "Stay Mode", and enabled when the system is in "Away Mode".
