Can I take down a window or door sensor without setting off an alarm?

Last Updated: 11/11/2013
It is possible for you to remove a window or door sensor.

But don't worry.  You already have to be inside the house to do this.  That means intruders can't just waltz in, remove the sensor, and make off with all your stuff because your system is built to protect against the whole "waltzing in" part of that equation.

With your system on, make sure to remove both the sensor AND its corresponding magnet from the door/window frame and the door/window respectively.  If you fail to do this, and remove one or the other, the maximum gap distance between the sensor and the magnet will be breached and an alarm will be triggered.
