The Securitron M62D is a heavy-duty, fail-safe electromagnetic door lock providing 1,200 pounds (544 kg) of holding force with an integrated Door Position Switch (DPS). Manufactured by Securitron, an ASSA ABLOY Group brand, the M62D is designed to secure interior, perimeter, and exterior doors in commercial electronic access control installations. The lock operates through an electromagnetic assembly mounted to the door frame and a steel armature plate mounted to the door. When electrical power is applied, the magnetic bond secures the opening; removing power releases the armature and permits the door to open. The integrated door position sensor monitors whether the door is open or closed, providing a separate status signal to compatible access control panels, alarm systems, and building security equipment. This configuration supports controlled entrances in offices, schools, healthcare facilities, warehouses, industrial properties, and commercial buildings requiring both electromagnetic locking and door position feedback.

The Securitron M62D incorporates automatic dual-voltage operation at 12 or 24 VDC without requiring manual voltage selection.
