How do I choose the best replacement battery for my Honeywell Alarm Panel?

Size, voltage, and capacity are the three most important factors to consider when choosing the right sealed-lead acid replacement battery for your Honeywell Control Panel.

When buying a replacement backup battery, you aren't required to use the same brand manufacturer as your previous battery. However, the battery voltage should be the same as the voltage of the old battery, and consequently, the panel's power requirements. For instance, a 12VDC panel, like the Vista 20P, would require a 12 volt sealed lead-acid battery.

Size is also an important factor because the battery must be able to fit in the same space where the old battery was housed. Battery capacity is important as well, but it does not necessarily have to match the exact Ah of the previous battery. If you have an old 4.0 Ah UT1240, it can be replaced by a 4.5Ah UT1240. Capacity is often directly related to a battery's size.
