What are the differences between the 5881ENL and the 5883H?

Last Updated: 11/08/2013

The 5883H is a wireless receiver/transmitter unit that can support unlimited wireless zones. The Honeywell 5881ENL is just a wireless receiver, and only supports 8 wireless zones.

The 5883H's bi-directional capability allows it to work with the 5828 keypad.  When used with the 5828 keypad, it functions much in the same way as the 6160RF keypad/receiver.  Both support unlimited zones (or the maximum amount the control panel allows) and are bi-directional keypads.  In order for the 5881ENL to support bi-directional devices, it must be coupled with the 5800TM transmitter module.
