What does the 12 Ah stand for on my UltraTech UT12120 SLA Alarm Battery?

The 12Ah (ampere hours) on your UltraTech UT12120 is a measure of the battery's discharge capacity.

Ah is traditionally measured over a 20 hour period. Therefore, when you take a battery's Ah and divide it by 20, the result tells you how many amps of current can be drawn from the battery consistently over a 20 hour period before the battery is dead.

In the case of your UT12120, it has a 12Ah capacity. This means the battery can draw 0.6 amps (12Ah divided by 20 hours) continuously for 20 straight hours before the battery's power is completely depleted.
