Yes, the 5800Micra wireless window sensor can be used in wooden window frames, but not in metal window frames. Metal window frames can cause interference that disrupts the device's transmissions, which can lead to decreased reliability and performance. The Micra can, however, be used in all vinyl windows, as well as casement, double-hung, access, or awning wood frame windows. The 5800Micra is... a small, recessed transmitter with a 3/4 inch diameter. It is mounted to a window frame and works with a corresponding magnet that mounts to the window. When the window is opened, a gap is created between the magnet and the transmitter. This will cause an alarm to trigger.
