The deadlatch from the 4900-45-201-628 series provides the most traffic control versatility and is simple to install. For hospitals, banks, shops, and other buildings that require unrestricted admission at certain hours and exit-only at other times, reversing the key when the bolt is fully retracted keeps the bolt and permits the door to remain free swinging with two-way traffic. It is simply convertible with any MS1850A or MS1850S Deadlock that has the identical backset and faceplate shape without requiring any design modifications. It can be retrofitted to 4500 and 4700 Deadlatch preparations already in place.
The 4900 Series Deadlatches provide installation and traffic management flexibility. For applications that require free admission at certain times and exit-only at other times, a reverse turn of the key while the bolt is held retracted holds the bolt. Compatible with any MS1850A or MS1850S lock with the same backset and faceplate shape, without requiring any stile modifications. To retract a spring-loaded latch bolt, turn the key, use the paddle, or operate the handle. Push the bolt in and turn the key backwards to secure it in the retracted position. utilizes an MS cam and any common mortise cylinder. Available in 31/32 in., 1-1/8 in., and 1-1/2 in. cylinder backsets. Flat and Radius Faceplates, a Strike, and attaching machine screws are all individually packed. Order the latch pull, paddle, and cylinders individually.
