The dual codec feature uses JPEG 2000 for recording but network video transmission uses H.264 compression. H.264 is less demanding on bandwidth and provides smooth network video transmission. The convenience of a jog shuttle makes for fast searching of recorded video, which can be easily archived to the built-in DVD-R/W or USB.
