Can residential Macurco CO Detectors be installed in parking garages?

Last Updated: 12/06/2013

No, residential Macurco CO detectors are not designed to be installed in parking garages.

Residential and office CO detectors, like the Macurco CM-E1, are constructed to meet specific standards set by Underwriters Laboratories (2075 and 2034). Residential CO detectors work with Burglary and Fire Security Panels to detect specific levels of CO gas and trigger an alarm when CO concentrations get too high.

Commercial CO detectors, like the Macurco CM-6, on the other hand, must comply with the standards set by national regulatory organizations. Commercial detectors also typically use ventilation technology to clear out low carbon monoxide levels in a given location, and only sound an alarm when high levels are reached.
