How do I find out the mounting height for my Macurco detector?

The answer depends on the gas you're trying to detect.

Here are the mounting heights for Macurco gas detectors based on gas type:

Carbon Monoxide: These detectors, such as the CM-6 or CM-E1, should be mounted at breathing level, which is between 4 to 5 feet from the floor.

Nitrogen Dioxide: Mount a Macurco Nitrogen Dioxide detector, like the TX-6-ND, about 4 to 5 feet off the floor.

Combustible Gases: It's important to know the specific gravity (density) of the gas you're looking to detect.

1. If the gas is heavier than the air (propane, LP, refrigerants), mount the detector low in the room, around 1 foot from the floor.
2. Gases like methane, natural gas and hydrogen are lighter than air, so mount the detector about one foot below the ceiling.
