The HEB is the header extension brackets that are used with the MM15. They come in multiple finishes both in black and clear, and different sizes. The 1” models are the HEB-1BK-MM15 which comes in black and the HEB-1CL-MM15 which is clear. The 2” models are the HEB-2BK-MM15 in black and HEB-2CL-MM15 in a clear finish. The last size is the 3” models which are the HEB-3BK-MM15 which is the black finish and the HEB-3CL-MM15, the clear finish.

To install the header bracket, fasten the bracket securely to structural supports using lag screws (not provided). Concrete anchors must be used if mounting it into masonry. Use these following steps for installing the header bracket. For this example, the header bracket is being used for a garage door.

First, mark the center of the door and wall extending onto the ceiling. Then determine the highest point of travel and draw a horizontal line for placement. Mark a spot on the "center of the garage door" line. Mark 2" (5 cm) above the highest point of travel for sectional doors with a track, and 8" (20cm) above the highest point of travel for a one-piece door without a track. In some installations, it will be necessary to install a 2x4 across two studs to create a place for the header bracket, use the lag screws to secure the bracket into the wood. Next, mark the bracket holes and drill two 3/16" pilot holes. Secure the bracket with lag screws. The next part is optional, but you can mount the bracket on the ceiling. However if the bracket is mounted this way, the back edge of it must not be further than 6” (15 cm) from the header wall. The arrow must point away from the header wall. Next center the bracket on the "center of the garage door" line and mount it flushes against the ceiling when clearance is minimal. Finally, attach the rail to the header bracket and position the opener on the garage floor below it. Then align the bracket holes and join with a clevis pin 5/16" x 1-1/2" and insert a ring fastener to secure.

The header brackets can be used for many more projects and options. The above example is just one of its many uses.
