The FSUNL, which stands for fail-safe unlatch module, is designed to work in conjunction with the UNL series or MUNL series. The two different models are the FSUNL-12 which works at 12VDC, .90mA and the FSUNL-24 which is the same except for the 24VDC, 1.4mA. When interfaced with an unlatch device, the FSUNL will allow the user to choose between "fail-safe" or “fail secure” operations.

The FSUNL enclosure dimensions are 8”x6”x3” and should be mounted indoors in an area, protected from tampering. For the most aesthetically pleasing installation, the cabling to the device should be run through the wire access port on the back of the enclosure right into the wall.

To install, the following tools are recommended. One should use a standard and Phillips screwdriver, drill motor, crimping tool and connectors, digital multi-meter or volt-Ohm meter and a wire stripper. This module was specifically designed for use with the following products: UNL unlatch strike, windstorm-rated, preload-handling electromechanical strike, MUNL mortise unlatch strike and the windstorm-rated, preload-handling strike for mortise locksets.
