What does the blinking red light mean on my 5800PIR-RES?

Last Updated: 11/12/2013
When the 5800PIR-RES is in power up mode, a red LED light will blink repeated every second.

The 5800PIR-RES enters a walk-test mode immediately following power up.  While in walk-test mode, a red light will blink whenever a motion sensor detects motion within its given detection range.  (Click here for more on the ranges of Honeywell motion detectors.)  Walk-test mode will stop after 10 minutes.  Whenever the sensor's batteries are taken out and then put back in to the device, the 5800PIR-RES will cycle through power up mode and then move to walk-test mode.  The user has the opportunity to restart the walk-test mode manually by using their Honeywell Control Panel.
