Does the Vista 21iP communicator work with wireless WiFi?

Last Updated: 11/06/2013
No, the Vista 21iP cannot connect to a wireless router.

AlarmNet communicators require a direct connection using an Ethernet cable.  Cellular communicators, like the GSM4G, are entirely wireless.  If you are looking for a wireless communication, the IP communicator can be disconnected and you can rely solely on a cellular communicator, which is traditionally more dependable than IP.

How to get your Vista 21iP to work with a wireless router...

It is possible to connect a wireless bridge to the internet communicator, which would create a wireless connection to your router.  In that case, it is still recommended that you add a backup GSM4G cellular communicator just in case the wireless bridge fails and you lose your IP communication capability.
