Here's how to program the E985-R Lever Lock with a disposal code.

1. Enter the programming code.
2. Press the "E-Digital" Button.
3. Press number (9).
4. Press the "E-Digital" Button.
5. Now enter a disposable user code (4-10 digits long).
6. Save your changes by pressing the "E-Digital" button.

A disposable user code...
unlocks an E-Digital Series lock just like a regular user code, except it can only be used one time. This a great feature because it gives homeowners the ability to hand out disposable codes to friends, family, or repairmen without ever having to give out their permanent user codes. No longer will homeowners have to reprogram all their locks every time they give a code out to a third party.
