Solid state sensors are incredibly versatile and have the ability to detect multiple gases within its given range. Solid state sensors are impressively adept at detecting low and high gas levels. When gas is present in the sensor's range, a reaction occurs that produces an electrical signal proportionate to the amount of gas in the area. With a longer life expectancy than regular electrochemical sensors, which may only last 2-3 years, it's no wonder the solid state sensor is so popular in the world of gas detection.
