Why do I get a "fire zone trouble" message when I power on my Vista 15P or Vista 20P?

The "fire zone trouble message" appears on the alarm keypad of your Vista 15P or Vista 20P because the resistor with the RBRG color bands hasn't been wired to zone 1.

These Vista control panels have been pre-configured to support a 2 wire smoke detector in zone 1. The fire zone trouble message appears when the detector has not yet been wired, or the zone has been wired to a door. To change the zone type, simply access zone programming menu from the home screen of your alphanumeric keypad and change the zone type.
