What temperature should my PS-1270 Sealed Lead Acid Battery be stored at?

The Power-Sonic PS-1270 should be stored at a temperature around 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 C) for optimal performance.

However, be sure not to allow the battery to freeze. Sticking to the suggested storage temperature of 40 degrees will result in only a 5% loss in capacity after six months. The battery should be fully charged when put into storage. Power-Sonic recommends that the battery be recharged again within 6 months of storage to prevent permanent capacity loss that could result from sulfation.

What is sulfation?
Following a discharge, sulphate can form on SLA battery electrodes. If the battery remains dormant for too long without a charge, the sulphate can crystalize, which can lead to capacity loss and shorter battery life. JMac Supply is aware of how sulfation can affect battery performance. That's why we're committed to constantly bringing in fresh stocks of batteries so our customers get the highest quality products on the market.

Consult your PS-1270 manual for more information on how storage time and ambient temperature can impact the capacity of your battery over time.
