Can a high or low ambient temperature hurt the performance of my Sealed Lead-Acid Battery?

Absolutely. The ambient temperature of a room or environment can have a huge impact on SLA battery performance.

Sealed Lead-Acid batteries are designed to operate at full capacity in rooms or environments where the ambient temperature is 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 C). Any colder or warmer can have an adverse effect on battery life and performance. Here's something to keep in mind: for every 10 degrees over 77 degrees Fahrenheit, users can see battery life drop by as much as 30%. Moving in the other direction, to the colder side, an ambient temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 C), can result in up to a 30% Ah capacity drop.

There are many factors that can contribute to performance loss in a battery, but ambient temperature tops the list. Keeping the ambient temperature at or around 77 degrees will help users get the most out of their SLA batteries.
