How do I replace the battery in the 5802WXT-2 Medical Alert Pendant?

To replace the battery...

Remove the cover from the 5802WXT-2 by taking out the four screws that hold it in place. Under the cover, you will find a 3V lithium battery. Remove the old battery and slide a new, CR2032 3V lithium battery under the gold-colored tab. The Honeywell installation guide warns that a CR2032 3V lithium battery must be used when powering the 5802WXT-2. Be sure the (+) sign on the new battery is facing up. Put the cover back on the device and screw in the four screws. (Follow the same steps to replace a battery for the 5802WXT Single Button Wireless Pendant.

How often should you replace the battery?

That depends on how often the medical alert button is activated. But generally, the battery lasts between four and seven years before needing a replacement. When the battery is low on the 5802WXT-2, a low battery indicator will appear on your alarm keypad beside the 2-digit zone number of your medical alert button. That alert message will clear away as soon as a fresh battery is installed.
