Sized in order to conceal existing mounting holes, the TSH touch sense handle is an exit device for doors secured by electric locks. With flexible options, this device can work equally well on in-swing doors or as a push-open device for out-swing doors. The TSH replaces standard pulls on aluminum doors to allow maglock release for egress. The assembly consists of a plastic base with an electronic touch sensor mounted inside, and an aluminum handle which is used to pull or push the door open. When one touches the handle, a DPST 2 Amp rated relay is activated and it trips the relay in the sensor, releasing the lock. The Voltage of the exit device is 12 or 12VDC with a current draw of 40mA at rest and 25mA releasing.

In the unlikely event of sensor failure, a push switch is mounted on the plastic base. Note: Pushing in the switch has the same effect as activating the sensor by touch and therefore represents the built in safety redundancy. This device is electrolynx ready and comes with a 16ft (4.8m) 22AWG 6 conductor cable and armored door cord as well as the MagnaCare lifetime replacement, no fault warranty. With an operating temperature of +32 to +110F (0 to +43C) the TSH would normally be able to function both in and outside, however the TSH cannot be outside in rain conditions, making it better off as an indoor handle.

With a shipping weight of only three pounds, this bar is easily moved for installation purposes. The TSH comes in only four different models. The first two are just the standard push/pull models, with the TSH-BK (Black Anodized) and the TSH-CL (Clear Anodized). The other two have electrolynx incorporated along with them with the EL-TSH-BK (Black Anodized) and the EL-TSH-CL (Clear Anodized).
